Christmas Tree Trends 2015

Maid in Essex

It’s December this week, and time to start thinking about getting the tree up again.  Do you go out a grab a fresh nordic pine every year?  Or perhaps you have an artificial tree stored away in the loft that comes out year after year?  Is this year the time to invest in a new look for your festive decorations?  Every year, different colours and kinds of decorations make it into the shops.  Whether you like to opt for a tradition Victorian look for your tree, or go minimalistic and modern, there is something for everyone out there.  Here’s our run down of the top trends for Christmas 2015.

A traditional Scandinavian scheme using red and white is bang on trend this year.  Using cosy, practical and inexpensive textiles makes it an affordable look for everyone. Do away with the tinsel and keep things lean.  Hang decorations from bare branches and add striking pieces to your home to keep the effects instantly recognisable.

Get your retro on and add some old school charm to your home this winter.  Find unique looking one off pieces, or old fashioned ornaments that remind you of your own childhood Christmas decorations.  Bring back the 60’s, 70’s and 80’s with dated but retro looking bits of decoration.  Add bright colours, or keep it simple with a more industrial look.  However you do it, have fun with it.  This look is all about looking cheesy on purpose.  The glitzier the better!

Go Traditional

Easy to achieve and timeless, the traditional look is always en vogue.  Reds, greens and golds bring a sumptuous feel to your decor and keep it feeling very Victorian.  Real tress adorned with tinsel and glass baubles. Bring the outside in with plenty of holly and ivy, adorned with plenty of mistletoe.

Go Minimal

Every year the minimal look is popular in home decor magazines and contemporary homes everywhere.  Is it hard to achieve though?  Not really, just think simple.  Unlike other Christmas schemes which focus on adding plenty of colour and decoration, the minimal approach needs only the one.  White is a great way to start.  Go for a plain branch tree, or white tree and add the simplest of baubles and decorations in shining white tones.  You can keep it simple and contemporary but still look festive.

However you choose to decorate your home this Christmas, don’t forget that a clean home is always the best foundation for a cosy Christmas time.  Why not have our cleaning ladies come and clean home for you.  Call us on 01277 812220 to book one today!
