2. Don’t Forget Your Water
Boiling water creates steam, steam helps get rid of creases! Easy! But all too often we don’t put enough water into our reservoirs which reduces your irons efficiency.
You can use tap water, or distilled water to reduce mineral buildup, or you can even purchase scented waters specifically designed for ironing – to keep your clothes not just crease free, but smelling lovely too.
Using steam is the very best way to deal with serious wrinkles. For wrinkles that just won’t come out, add extra water. Alternatively you can get a towel damp and iron the item with the towel underneath.
If that you are dealing with seriously stubborn crinkles and creases you could always try the “poor man’s steamer” and by this we mean hanging your items in the bathroom, turning on the shower and closing the door. Ironing the item after steaming should be much easier. After 10 minutes or so of this treatment, that pesky crease should be easier to iron out.
Whatever you choose to use, make sure you have the just the right amount of liquid in before you iron, and be sure to tip the remaining water out every time you finish. Manky water can lead to a build up of minerals and a bad smell!
