Be A Yummy Mummy! Key Looks For Spring 2015

Maid in Essex

We know that some days getting the kids ready, fed and off to school takes up so much time in the morning that going out in old tracksuit bottoms, with scraped back hair and no make up feels like the last of your worries.  Before we were mums, we were women – women who had time to blow dry our hair, put on make up and walk all day in high heels. Even though our lifestyles and priorities may have changed, there are still ways we can make ourselves feel a bit more glam with the help of the right, quick fix wardrobe.

Spring time is a great time to have a clear out of our thick winter woollies and bring lighter garments to the front of our wardrobes, or better still treat ourselves to some new ones.  We’ve had a a little sniff about to see what the top trends for trendy mums are this Spring.  Enjoy!

denim shirt1. Denim

It’s not only jeans that will be getting our attention this year. Skirts, dresses, jumpsuits and shirts — it doesn’t matter how you wear denim, as long as you do. If you’ve an old jacket lurking at the back of your wardrobe, now’s the time to dig it out.

Denim is cool and classic and can be dressed up or down as you see fit.  More importantly chucking a denim shirt over a pair of leggings instantly looks much more trendy and thought out than a pair of old joggers for the school run.

gingham

 2. Gingham

Gingham is back with a bang this season, and is quite possibly the trend you won’t be able to escape this season.  It featured heavily on the catwalk collections, and has worked its way into the High Street. Try to avoid too much at once though to avoid looking like Dorothy from The Wizard Of Oz.

A well fitted gingham shirt worn loosely over a pair of jeans will instantly brighten up your school run look and and keep you bang on trend.

flares

3. Flares!

We kid you not! After many years of shoehorning ourselves into skinny jeans, the wide legged trouser is back! Channel your  inner ’70s vibe, get your legs a-flapping and for even more fashion kudos, make sure they are high-waisted as well.

Make your school run a breeze by teaming up a pair of the flares with a tight t-shirt and mules for a super fast, super stylish look.

Jumpsuit

4. Jumpsuits

We’re glad to see the jumpsuit is sticking around for a bit longer —they are cool, comfy and easy to wear.  Throw one on for the school run and hey presto, its like pyjamas with pizzaz!

flatform sandals

5. Flatforms

Flat shoes are once again in favour this year – in the form of chunky flatforms.  Not only do they give you great height, they’re deliciously comfortable too. Easy to wear, and looking great with everything, these are the go-to shoes for the Spring/Summer season.

So keep your feet sandal ready and you can throw these on for every school run and you’ll be head and shoulders ahead of the game.
